I used to use the barbell neck pads or use a hoodie as padding for hip thrusts, and I was always left bruised. I tested the HTP pad with 225 for reps, couldn't even feel the bar, the pad flexes with it thus still allowing full range of motion. I even worked up to 400+ lbs and not a hint of soreness where the bar lay the next day. Pretty impressed, hopefully it remains durable over time. A little spendy but definitely worth it.

Great product! We previously used a barbell neck pad for hip thrusts, which never worked that well. The hip thrust pad has made heavy hip thrust pain a thing of the past. I would highly recommend it to anyone that performs hip thrusts regularly!

The Y I belong had some of the round pads you could use for squats or hip thrusters. Well, they had seen there use and I was getting tired of doing lite weight all the time. Started searching around and found this one to have the most reviews and highest rating. Ordered one and have not been sorry yet. Really makes a difference having the right equipment. My hip thrust "noodle" broke/tore so I went on an online search for something more durable, particularly since I'm trying to increase the weight and volume of my barbell hip thrusts. I remember Alan Thrall giving AbMat a shout-out and I basically trust anything Alan Thrall endorses. I've used the AbMat Hip Thrust pad a few times now and I noticed an IMMEDIATE improvement in: 1) Range of motion; 2) Increase in intensity and volume. I'm impressed. For anybody who is petite, I'm only 5'3" and this fits well across my hips; not too large at all. That said : 1) I had to get a new gym bag to carry this around because it didn't fit in my gym drawstring backpack; 2) It takes awhile to figure out how to set-up / roll the barbell up the pad without causing the pad to slide around; 3) The pad is quite thick and sturdy (which is great!) but, it now requires extra effort to get my heels as far back at possible. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely recommend the AbMat Hip Thrust pad!

Great comfort on the hip with heavy weights. It really spreads out the weight displacement so it’s not all centered on the hip crease, while still allowing the exercise movement technique to be precise.
