Its light enough to easily store and move around, but still strong enough for heavy preacher curls. I use over a hundred pounds to curl with it and can feel a little bit of deformation but it still gives me support and goes back to its normal shape when I'm done. It works great with my rackable curl bar put over my spotter arms.
I have cut unilateral preachers out of my routine to save time and I don't have space for a preacher bench. This is the perfect compromise. The foam is a little soft, but the pad is much lighter than i thought it would be, which is great for storage up high. Very happy with it
I recently had to reduce down to a set of dumbbells and an adjustable bench to save space and this preacher pad is a godsend! I’m so happy I didn’t skimp and go with a cheaper clone, the quality of this American made piece of kit can’t be fully conveyed in reviews and images. I’ve even managed to get solid preacher curls sitting on the floor. Very few can justify the cost and space of a dedicated preacher curl bench and out of all the options I’ve tried over the years this is the highest quality most space efficient option.
I love this thing. I buy quality equipment and I wanted to buy a preacher bench. But a good one is nearly $1000 and takes up 16-18 square feet. My trainer recommended this after he saw it. I bought us both one.
The Abmat Preacher Pad is one of the best designs especially in your Home Gym! Its light and easy to store! I use the preacher pad to do Dumbbell Curls on the Rogue Utility Flat Bench 2.0 with the Thompson Fat Pad. Very effective workout! However, I wish Abmat can put the grippy material on the whole bottom part of this Preacher Pad (the same grippy material use on the bottom of the Thompson Fat MAT ) then the Pad will stick to the Flat Bench and not move at all! Now it is still sliding a bit. As I recommend doing the Dumbbell Curls with the Preacher Pad on a flat bench because it makes the workout way more stable. Increasing Gainz is great with this Preacher Pad! I highly recommend it!
I've used the preacher pad several times now and I love it. It's well made, light weight and fits comfortably on my lap. Curls are more appealing now in my gym.
Great product! Solves the problem of space in your home gym! Only advice I’d give is to have different sizes for smaller/larger body types. I’m 5’7” and the pad feels just slightly too large. But other than that, amazing product!
This by far has to be one of the most genius ideas. Someone like me who is limited on space but loves preacher curls finally found a solution. The build quality is superior and look forward to many arm sessions with this pad.
Amazing that this had not been invented sooner. It is perfect for my home garage gym. I prefer using it while sitting and placing the pad in my mid section. I have long arms and have had no issues using this.
Excellent product. Have two small gyms where I train and train my clients. Easy to use and easy to store! More comfortable than most preacher benches due to the softness of the foam. Still firm enough though for the movement. Going to get another one soon for my home gym!
Great Product 🔥. Easy to use and the variations are endless. Plus the money you save and storage compared to a normal preacher curl machine you can't go wrong.
Received my Preacher Pad a few days ago already because I ordered one as soon as it dropped. I don’t have room for an actual preacher curl bench in my basement gym and doing single arm ones off of my GHD is not ideal either, so I was excited about this product.
Even though there are many variations how the Preacher Pad can be setup (standing, kneeling, on a bench, using straight bars, dumbbells, fat bars, VTX curl bar, etc.), so far I have been sitting on a Sorinex Squat Box and using the Rogue Cerakote Curl Bar. The Preacher Pad is super light, the foam density is perfect as far as allowing for it to conform to your midsection and chest, but certainly stiff and supportive enough not to “give” in a detrimental way while using it with heavier weight. So far I have just performed close grip curls with knees placed widely under outer edges of PP, as well as wide grip curls with knees placed together under center of pad. The width and dimensions are just right allowing for arm and leg positioning where there are no interferences and so you don’t feel cramped positionally.
The PP delivers great isolation (as one would expect for a preacher curl), it is comfortable on your triceps and elbows, and against my body. For a reference, I’m 6’1” and 205.
The cover seems very durable as well, and seems to be the same as my ABmat hand stand push-up pad and ABmat AB pad, so I know it will take a beating and continue to look good indefinitely.
This is a must have for home gyms since it takes up very little space but provides the same functionality of a gym style preacher curl machine. Buy it!
I was shocked at how malleable the pad was. Curling 40-pound dumbbells on the pad makes it instantly concave. I am a larger man, 265 pounds. But for the price of 100 dollars - I expected the pad to be able to handle that weight. It seemingly cannot. I would consider using a denser foam. Incredibly disappointed.
I’ve only used it twice so far, but my biceps definitely felt a difference. It really works isolating the muscles. It’s the perfect product for my small gym area.
