AbMat was originally started by Kyle McCarter who began manufacturing the AbMat for its inventor Fred Koch in the early 2000's. AbMat is now run by Kyles son Austin McCarter and his business partner Dylan Tellam who met at the beginning of 2018. Since then, the business has evolved into an accelerator for innovative fitness accessories. To inspire innovation and promote collaboration over competition AbMat works with members of the fitness community to develop products that address all the unsolved problems found in the fitness space.
